Homes For Our Troops - SGT Newell
Homes For Our Troops is building a house for SGT Ryan Newell and his family. Army SGT Ryan Newell was deployed to Afghanistan when he was left a double amputee after an IED explosion blew him out of his vehicle’s gunner’s turret in January 2009. After being stabilized and with flight conditions improved, SGT Newell was airlifted to Landstuhl, Germany. He was later airlifted to Walter Reed, where he spent nearly a year undergoing treatment and rehabilitation. He has recently returned to Kansas to continue his therapies closer to home.
